I'm the science consultant for Keystone AEA where I've had the opportunity to work with a vast number of teachers and school districts for the past three years. Over the 12 years prior to that, I taught science and math courses in a variety of districts, including North Central in Manly, Center Point-Urbana, and most recently Iowa City West. I've recently found myself working more and more on technology integration and partnering with teachers on how best to utilize technology in the classroom to enhance learning - while still finding time to spend enjoying the outdoors on our homestead with my wife and two kids.

Hello my name is Tracy Nuss. I'm a soon to be first year teacher from the North Fayette Community School district. I'll be teaching physical science, chemistry and physics at the start of next year in the North Fayette High School. As of today (4-22-11) I'm still waiting until I graduate from Upper Iowa. I recently finished up my two student teaching placements. My first placement was at the Sumner-Fredericksburg High School teaching chemistry and physics, My second placement was at Oelwein High School where I taught chemistry only. As a brand new first year teacher I felt this would be a good opportunity to try something new especially since I don't have my old ways to hold me back yet. I've always enjoyed working with technology and this will be a brand new exciting experience to mesh both technology and my passion for teaching. As for me I'm originally from Ackley, Iowa. I'm currently 22 years of age and reside on campus in Fayette. In my free time I enjoy running, biking and being near the water. I may be young but I look forward to learning as much as I can.

It has been and continues to be a powerful learning experience! I am interested in all teaching methods that can meet the needs of my very diverse classes. I am always looking to the future, and I believe e-courses will be a part of that. I am excited about this learning opportunity!

Hi, I am Kevin Kaufman and teach at Okoboji High School. It might look like I was on the moon, but actually I just stayed at a Holiday Inn (Insert laughter here). This spring completes my 22nd year as a teacher, the last 11 here in Milford. To summarize my career so far, I don't go to work in the morning, I get to go to school. During this time, I've taught Chemistry, AP Chemistry, Physics, Conceptual Physics, Physical Science, Biology, Advanced Biology, Earth Science, and probably a few others I've forgotten in my old age. I've also coached high school and middle school football, high school boys and girls basketball, and middle school track. I've recently completed my masters program in science education, I hope. I haven't seen my comp scores yet. The last three years I've been incorporating Moodle more and more into my classroom. I love the nice constructivist ideas you can build Moodle around, and the kids find it so beneficial, they're always asking for more. This leads to the aspect of this project I am most excited about. I am looking forward to see how others promote, and ways to improve, long distance collaboration. My wife and I are both from Lincoln, Nebraska and we have two boys, one is finishing his first year of collage at South Dakota and the other is graduating high school this spring. I enjoy Canadian fishing and RAGBRAI. This project will knock the last three days of RAGBRAI off for me, but oh well, it's for the students.
Good Morning. I am Jay Lahners and I teach Physical science, Chemistry, Physics, Environmental, and Anatomy at Underwood high school. This is my 3rd year in the Iowa teaching system. I have spent the last 14 years in Nebraska and made the move to Iowa. Next year, if things work as said, we will be going to one on one with computers. I have always had major problems with Wiki and hope that everything works for this class. I am looking forward to this class for many reasons. One is to help set up a one on one Physical Science which will incorporate Iowa standards and not ruin science teaching like Nebraska standards have.
Hi. I am Tiffany Gannon. I live in Cherokee but I teach for Remsen-Union Community Schools. I have been teaching for only 5 years. Hello, I'm Anne Mendoza. I teach physical science, chemistry, and physics at Earlham High School. I just left for maternity leave and had my fourth child a couple of days ago so am trying to keep up from home for a couple of weeks while we get the newest member of our family settled in. My degree is actually in music education and I taught band for 1 year. I hated it and decided to go to medical school which resulted in 2 years of math and science classes so that I could apply. Then we started our family and I decided to stay home with the kids. 3 1/2 years ago I decided to sub a little and my first subbing day was in my current position which was open at the time. I loved it!!! Then the school found out that I had enough science credits to be endorsed in science and they hired me. Best job ever!!!
